A day comes when the pen is forced to stop, and the writer must take up arms. Thus, however you might have come to it, whatever the opinions you might have professed, literature throws you into battle. Writing is a certain way of wanting freedom; once you have begun, you are committed, willy-nilly. -Sartre

Rebekah Henson Plourde graduated from Eastern University in 2008 and holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Writing. She is a four-time produced playwright and currently piecing together a screenplay, novel and a collection of personal essays in her spare time.

She’s an experienced digital copywriter, editor and storyteller. Rebekah has managed blogs for a documentary film director, freelanced personal finance articles for a Philadelphia marketing group, created print and web collateral for Temple University and edited AP-style news articles for a local digital PR firm.

She spent three years as an in-house copywriter at AWeber – a software company – creating effective email, website, social media and print copy and contributing regularly to their marketing blog.

She is currently the content manager for Soul Purpose Company, a national mastermind group of women entrepreneurs with a weekly online magazine. She tweets for them, plans the monthly calendar, interviews entrepreneurs for articles, sources contributors, edits submissions, develops e-courses, viral content and more.

Her non-writing hobbies include swing dancing, learning ukulele and hosting an indie music radio show on a fill-in basis for Y-Not Radio in Philadelphia (she writes the occasional album review for them, too!).
